Setting Your Sag

What's sag? (Or static SAG)

In a nutshell it means how much suspension travel your bike uses  to support itself and a rider when stationery and upright. Its easy to do and should take more than 15 minutes. See our FREE static sag guide below!

To get an accurate setting you'll need someone to hold the bike so you can get both feet on the foot pegs, and you need to be in all your riding kit.

These are the measurements to aim for after adjusting your fork and shock settings:

  • Road Front Sag Aim - 40mm
  • Road Rear Sag Aim - 30mm

  • Track Front Sag Aim - 30mm
  • Track Rear Sag Aim - 25mm

What tools do you need?

  • Firstly, find where the adjustability controls are and make a note of them before altering any fork and shock settings.
  • Most bikes need both fork legs adjusting to the same settings, but on some bikes one leg controls compression and the other rebound. Also, not all forks/shocks will give you control of compression or rebound. If you're unsure, check your user manual.
  • Grab a screwdriver, allen keys, spanners, a tape measure, notepad, a zip tie, a mate, all your riding gear, and 2 cups of tea!
